There is Wenger and Victorinox. As I understand it, they are completely independent manufacturers of the same brand.

Can they really be the same brand?

Are there any other brand-name products of any kind with different, competing manufacturers?

I ahdn't heard about that. But yes there could be two or more manufacturers of the same brand. Many brands have their products manufactured for them. Many Swiss watches have Japanese quartz components with Swiss mechanical parts. The Swiss Army name is owned by Victronix however so they can license it to anyone they want. This is a common practice and you might be surprised at how many products are made this way. Take a look at cars, Honda passport is made by Isuzu.

I don't really know but I won't buy any of they're stuff. 2 reasons, one being I bought something of there's once that was VERY expensive and it broke and they wouldn't make it right, 2nd because O.J. Simpson is involved with the ownership of that company.
