first, im a uk fan, we have lost one game to s.c. coached by steve spurrier (kentucky has never beaten a team coached by him) we have a hiesman candidate at QB an many other playmakers while the lsu O isnt so great. i was at the game but im not sure if it was right to charge the field now that we're a top team in the SEC, do you all think this upset is overated?

Well, anytime the number one team loses to a team outside the top 5 it is certainly considered an upset.

While I will grant you that it is not a big upset. Remember the SEC games are almost all unpredictable. period.

This was a pretty big upset, LSU being ranked #1 and looking to have all the pieces in place to run the table and playing a 1 loss Kentucky team that looked like they didnt match up very well. You dont become a top sec team overnite, it takes years of winning to be considered elite in the major conferences, but if Kentucky can keep this up for a couple of years then they can be a top sec team. I know you wont like to hear this but the only thing I think is overated is your heisman candidate. That being said CONGRATS on a big win for the school.

It's nothing comparable to App. State over Michigan or Stanford over USC, but it's an upset, LSU was the number 1 team and were picked to win. It's certainly not a huge upset, as many sportswriters were pointing out that after the huge, emotional come-from-behind win over Florida last week, the game against Kentucky was a potential sleeper upset for them.

It's a big upset because LSU was #1 but it is not that big. LSU beat SC. SC beat UK. UK beat LSU. That is how the SEC works. A lot like the NFL. Very hard to go undefeated. Nobody really knew how good UK was. They just knew that they lost once to a team that lost once to the #1 team.

UK played a great game today. Any time a #17 ranked team beats the #1 ranked team, it is considered an upset. My hats off to UK, but it is still an upset.

This wasn't too big of an upset.

Before you trash the LSU O, keep in mind the top reciever hasn't played in a month.

That said, LSU's little mistakes turned into big mistakes, and UK played almost flawlessly on offense, especially in the fourth quarter and the overtime periods.

Compared to some of the stuff we've seen so far this year, you can call this upset pretty tame.

Because they lost to Kentucky! Kentucky is down there with Vanderbilt. Sorry, but they are. Now, both teams are actually doing good this year, but LSU was also #1 in the nation. I'm a UT fan (GO BIG ORNAGE!!!!) so I'm glad that KY won and wish that Vanderbilt had beat GA!

i dont think its that monumental of an upset like everyone's making it out to be. a lot of people that are saying this are not SEC fans, therefore don't know how exactly our conference works. lol. each week comes down to a grueling match bw two teams, and this week lsu didn't bring its A game. it happens. and we didnt help ourselves by getting penalty after penalty...after penalty...

anyway, people are so quick to throw UK in there with the likes of Stanford that they forget that UK was ranked 17 today. they're not an unknown team.

good luck with the rest of the schedule, UK, and maybe we'll see y'all again in the SEC championship! (and for LSU's sake, lets hope we play better than we did today)

p.s.- tell your student section to watch an LSU game so that they know what it means to cheer. seriously. i was talking to a friend after the game, and she was like, "why weren't they making any noise...?"

I'm not surprised, Kentucky suffered a let-down against the Gamecocks. Keyword- "Let-down." In other words, it didn't mean much more than an "L" on their record. I still thought Kentucky was a competitor, and they showed it today. Congratulations on the win, guys.
