I'm just curious, but what is Across the Universe about? I can't see it cuz its not playing in our town. I know its a musical but what is is about? Did they like take all the beatles songs and put it in the movie?

An original musical film, Across The Universe is a fictional love story set in the 1960s amid the turbulent years of anti-war protest, the struggle for free speech and civil rights, mind exploration and rock and roll. At once gritty, whimsical and highly theatrical, the story moves from high schools and universities in Massachusetts, Princeton and Ohio to the Lower East Side of Manhattan, the Detroit riots, Vietnam and the dockyards of Liverpool. A combination of live action and animation, the film is paired with many songs by The Beatles that defined the time.

Beatles music is influence of the film about the 1960's Music,Art,War,And politics at that time plus some psychedelic stuff around the music..not so much drug use as relationships, back story is about LOVE!!! of two people Jim Sturgess and Evan Rachael Woods and there live from first meeting til the return of "Jude' to scene in new york...

its a love story thats during the vietnam war. they use all the beatles songs throughout the movie and a lot of the character's names are from beatles songs as well. I really loved it you should rent it when it comes out on dvd or find a place that is playing it!!

Yea, i was rad. Its about a boy who moves to America from England and falls in love wit a girl during the turbulent time of war, peace protests, and drugs. Very trippy visuals and great music

oh i like that movie. its basically what everyone else said. it's about a group of young adults during the 60's. they use beatles songs and names mentioned in beatles songs.
