A dream in life that won't happen...?

i've had a dream/ goal/ passion in my life, but i know it probably won't ever happen. what should i do?

That's your problem. You don't have enough faith in yourself and you are giving up. You can achieve anything you put your mind to. When you go in with a defeatist attitude, you get defeated before you even begin. Believe in yourself. Don't say "it will probably never happen." Believe that it will happen, and one day it will.

I know it sounds corny. But there are MANY things that I have achieved in my life that were seemingly impossible. With determination and hard work, I have achieved these things.

Don't think of it as impossible. Break it down into little pieces and see what's required in each section. Then work out how to accomplish each small step. People in your way, like family? Consider taking small but positive steps toward your goal till you're old enough to pursue your goal without their approval. Money a problem? Look for scholarships, apprenticeships, online training from people who might be willing to share their experiences. The scope of your goal too big or scary? Pare it down, or adapt it slightly to your reality (eg: Goal: Hollywood star. Adaptation, at least for the time being: getting regular parts in community theatre to hone your skills). Location an issue? Look into local alternatives.

Don't give up until you've given it a good shot. All dreams deserve a fair go.

Ok, I read your question, and all the answers so far (seems like everyone says the same thing) and i've decided you need to hear something different...

get a piece of paper and something to write with. now at the top of the page write your goal. Then you write what would have to happen before that. like if you want to be a rock star, then well, you need popularity, and fans, to get that, you need gigs and good music, for that you need a band. to get a band you need to be able to sing or play an instrument, you if can't yet, you need lessons, if you have stage fright and want to sing, you need to start small, kareoke, or singing in the shower... see where this is going? now that you have all these ideas down, you and write down, in order, what you need to do. singing lessons ---> Kareoke ---> Band ---> gigs ---> Manager ---> Better gigs.... until you reach the goal, then you can start with small goals and work your way up...

it's hard to imagine collecting a million pop cans, until you start with stuff like day one get 10, day 2 get 15.... baby steps makes the goals easier to obtain

it depends what it is. if it's realistic then go for it. make the most you can out of life. but if its like mking a time machine or something like that i wouldn't really bother...
