I will use what ever means possible!
I have debated my fear of snakes be they poisonous or non poisonous.
This is my conclusion "It must be bad if they call it snake, 'cause if it wasn't bad they wouldn't call it snake."
My dog Sweetpea use to hunt for them and kill them. She is now waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge.
Now I must depend on me and I use
"Snake Away" and try to remove snake habitat.
Sorry, I'm long winded.
It works on all of the snakes listed below AND IT SAFE TO USE
Safe to humans, pets and the environment.

I don't. I'm always really happy to see a snake. The fat rattler that lives here I tend to avoid, but he's really nice. The others that aren't poisonous don't bother me. And all the mice and rats and squirrles and rabbits here I really need all the help controlling them I can get. Owls and coyotes, and the local fox help. As does my kitty.

You should seldom see a snake if you have enough places for it to hide. They are more afraid of you than you are of them. Really. They will stay away from you if you let them know you are near.

But there are good snake repellents as other people have noted. I hear the "Liquid Fence" product works well.

Why would you want to? Snakes eat mice and other rodents that might consume your food. The snakes are more scared of you than you are of them----unless they are poisonous I'd say glad to have them there!
