I live in northern Alberta. I'd guess that about 99% of our city is made up of hockey fans...it's just too bad most of them support a terrible Oilers team!
Really, though, there are lots of us out there. We'll never have the numbers of football or baseball, but there will always be a lot of hockey fans.

There are no hockey fans in the hockey section of yahoo answers. We all like football.

Too bad that most of the people in Ottawa are Leafs or Habs fans. And the ones that are Sens fans usually are just watch games as a social activity, or to say, "I went to the playoff game, omg it was fun". - Although there are many real fans out there.
But, we do easily manage to sell out the arena every game.

I live in Colorado - All the Avs games are on TV..!! How can you not be a hockey fan. "It's the coolest game on earth!" (ESPN said that a few years ago when they were televising the NHL).
Yeah - I'm a fan..!!

There are lots of fans out there, you just have to know where to look. I know in Buffalo we can fill an arena with 18,690 people, and still have thousands show up to watch the game outside on a television screen.
