They could be caught in the wild in Wayward Cave if Leaf Green is in the GBA slot and its evolution Sandslash could be found on route 228 w/ Leaf Green in the GBA slot
Leaf Green MUST be in the DS or else you can't find one
or you could just trade or migrate from your GBA games to get one

You cant get sandshrew on diamond you have to use the GBA slot and transfer it there.

you have to go to wayward cave where u find a gible and just wander around until u find 1.
