It may be a little abnormal but not in a bad way. People mature at different ages so perhaps you are more mature than others in your age group and are attracted to these older people but if you would pass up the perfect person your age for someone that much older perhaps you need to figure out the reason why. There are many successful relationships with a large age difference so age alone is not and should not be a factor unless one of the two is still a child - Jr. or Sr high school, for example, or younger.

I don't know if it's abnormal, but I understand where you're coming from. As the oldest girl in a family of 8, I was more or less, friends with my parent's friends first.
I make friends with people quicker when theres a considerable age gap, but I'm the same way as a mother to all of my sons' friends, I don't have many in my own age group. You never know, you're still young and as time goes on, you may change your mind, but don't feel embarrassed or ashamed just because you prefer older people.

It isn't the norm, but don't be ashamed. You would much rather be attracted to people 20-30 years older than 20-30 years younger. Those people are called pedophiles.

I don't know what's "normal" these days.
I'm 28 and I ended up marrying a man 26 years older than myself.
I suppose it could work. I've even been attracted to men as old as 40 years older than I am.
I tried dating guys my own age, but that's what they are, "guys" and they are still unsettled, not into commitment, no house, unable to have the maturity to understand how women think or need to be pleased.. so.. hey. :)

I tend to be attracted to mainly older males, so I wouldn't say it's neccesarily abnormal. However, I will see someone every now and then my age I think is attractive. If you're NEVER attracted to someone your age, I would say that isn't what others are like, but there's nothing wrong with you because of it.

Sounds like they are filling in some deeper, subconscience psychological need. For women, it's normal to be attracted to older guys because of different maturity levels, but not usually that much of a difference. Have you ever analysed exactly WHAT it is that attracts you to them? And what is it about younger people that make you feel they are unattractive?

Does it really matter what age he person is, as long as they are18 and older. You just need to remember that they will come with more personal baggage than a younger person. Really get to know their past before you make a long time commitment.

it is perfectly normal as long as it's not 40-60 years older than you.

speaking from experience...it has never been intentional but younger men have always been attracted to me (not in the range where it would be jailbait) and now well into my later years my hubby is 13 years younger than me but we are totally in love...so, no it is not abnormal.

I hope not - but rather doubt it's abnormal . All my friends in high school were either younger or older than I .
