The Bible says (about spiritual gifts)" What you receive as a gift, give as a gift." If they have a "gift"..they did nothing to earn it. So shouldn't they share this "gift" freely?

I am not an entertainer. I have never charged money. Will not accept money. I don't even like getting gifts from clients. I do what I do to try to benefit mankind. Put me down. See what I care. I share this gift freely, and have mentored others to strengthen their own abilities.

They are providing a service so why not? The service is a scam and I used to think gullible people deserved to be protected from such scams, but now I'm convinced that people want to be fooled. So for that reason I say the phony psychics should take their credulous victims for all they can. That's the price of stupidity. I know this is a harsh approach and I wish there was some other way, but people just don't want to listen.

Hi,
If they use their gift as their way of income then they are very much likely to charge.
Every psychic will have their own reasons behind why they charge....but i always tell people not to pay too much for any readings and ALWAYS try to find a psychic that you can pay AFTER your reading not upfront and before. I do readings online but i dont charge. Mine are through tarot but i dont need to charge as its something i just enjoy doing in my own time as away of helping others. I already have a steady income in a respected job so i see no reason to charge.

Yes I do though I do think many over charge and lead people on to get more money. Having to have a license and follow an ethical code would eliminate at least some of this problem. Since we don't have socialized medicine in the U.S. (good or bad) healers (medical doctors, surgeons, psychiatrist, psychologist, acupuncturist, etc.) all charge for their services and aren't considered evil(well most).

Your question assumes that this ability is a spiritual gift and not as most parapsychologist suggest a natural human ability. However, even assuming the gift scenario is someone blessed with surgical skills not allowed to charge for his her or her services/skills? Not that I don't believe in programs like Doctors without Borders that do donate time and skills.

ALL psychics are charlatans and fakes, so it follows that via charging for "centers" the only can not grant, it extremely is a scam. No psychic contained in the background of mankind has ever been able to coach their "presents" decrease than scientific scrutiny and that consists of Psychic Sally.

the bible says nothing about psychics, seer's or anyone who thinks they can read future events as a gift. it also says there would be no other Prophets or miracles after Jesus. beware of false prophets and those who perform so called miracles. the power isnt a gift from God, its a lie from Satan meant to lead people astray from the true word.
I have never seen one give anything freely, money for lies. like a shuck and jive session.

As a professional clairvoyant medium I have given many readings for free giving up many hours of my time to help or comfort those in need or at their most desperate for a little peace of mind. I have also spent evenings giving survival evidence for spiritualist churches for no payment.

However, I have also charged for readings, this is usually for the 'interested' person who wants to know a something of what is ahead of them in life, or possibly enable them to contact a relative in spirit or a guide. I do not believe there is anything wrong is being paid for your time, whether it is a gift or not...

...does a concert pianist (with a God given talent) play concert for free?...does a surgeon with a gift of healing work for nothing?...does a professional footballer with a talent for sport turn up every Saturday afternoon for free?..

...I think not...personally I give a lot of my time and talents for free, the fact that I am helping those that are suffering is payment enough, but when it comes to the 'day to day' clairvoyance readings I see nothing wrong in charging for my time, after all we all have to eat.

I'm sure that the skeptics will have a field day with this, and that is fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we should all be a little skeptical when dealing with the subject of spiritual gifts...but just as important...

...we should ALL keep an open mind too!

Almost all professionals in our community charge money. I feel that who they are and what they charge for is a window into the quality of their work. Of course some psychics and mediums are frauds and con artists; but so are some doctors, dentists, lawyers, even clergy. Nothing is sacred.

Most genuine psychics that charge money for their services do so to support themselves and their work. They also contribute their time and money to worthy causes, and also to people who need their services but can't afford them.

Well even thieves need to make a living. Don't they? You have to eat. You have rent and bills to pay. Why waste your life at an honest job? If someone's stupid enough to fall for your schtick go ahead and scam him for every penny you can grab.

Logic never works on true believers. They have to learn all their lessons the hard way.

If they can do what they claim, yes. But they should also be liable if they don't. Legal binding contracts would be good. And if they commit fraud they can sent to jail and sued.

Since no one has ever proved to be able perform under controled conditions anything paranormal, protection is needed. Laws and regulations must be made to protect people from the scammers.
