He made a mistake, but BLAME the coach. The coach knew he was a backup QB, without experience and should of went for the field goal.

Freshman QB in his first start. Give the kid a break.
Coaches have to let him know that in that situation, you don't have any timeouts so throw the ball away if you get in trouble and we'll get the FG team out and go into OT. You cannot take a sack or get caught in the middle of the field.

That was a rookie mistake, the QB was a redshirt freshman. There was no way they shouldn't have at least taken that game into overtime. It's pretty funny. What a boneheaded way to lose a football game.

That was something the coaches should have told the QB that it was a must to not run the ball. They should have kicked the ball and went for OT. They had all of the momentum.

Yes, he should have thrown the ball away, they could have tied it with a field goal. Quartebacks must always be aware of the clock.
