3(x+2)/3 = x+2

3x-2<10
add 2 to both sides
3x<12
divide both sides by 3
x<4

3x+6 / 3
would equal to
x+2 ? because 3/3 = 1 therefore its 1x and 6/3 is 2
so therefore its 1x+2 which is x+2

3x-2<10
pretend the 'less than sign' is an equals sign
3x-2=10
now do your algebra
3x-2=10
+2 ...... +2
3x=12 (divide each side by 3 to get only 1x)
x= 4



oh sorry steve A is correct i forgot to replace the equal sign with < (x<4)

(3x+6)/3 = 3(x+2)/3 = x+2

3x -2 < 10
+2 to each side
3x < 12
x < 4
