He's one of my favorite vocalists.. and i was just wondering if anybody out there, still remembers who he is. Hearing opinions/testimonials of him would be great. ..and technically this is legit, cause i'm askin if anybody remembers Sam Cooke.

I was just talking to one of the guys at work about him the other day.

Mostly about how so many people don't know who he is, but love him when they hear him :)

I am 23 years old, and I love his music. I know he is wayyyy before my time. I like A Change Is Gonna Come, Sentimential Reasons, Wonderful World, You Send Me. It's sad that he died at such a young age. It's 43 years now since he's passed? I own some documentary of his on DVD and it's pretty interesting. Gives me goosebumps. What a voice.

Right up there with Smokey Robinson and Otis Redding as one of the greatest soul singers. Gone, but the music lives on.

Yeah..Sam Cooke was a very good singer....He was killed by a woman in LA I think in 1963. Sam Cooke thought the woman ripped hin off, he confronted her and she shot him, and told the police that he was trying to attack her. My grandmother loved that guy....

God yes; I remember seeing Pretty in Pink in the theaters when it came out, and my friend and I going to every music store in town trying to find out who "The Duckman" was singing in the movie. It was Sam and we bought everything we could find and played those cassette tapes till they broke.

He died long before I was born so I don't remember him, but I have always thought that he had the greatest voice.
