My wife and I have a very open and honest relationship and she tells me that she has never masturbated and she has never tried it even when she was young because she thinks its nasty.

Do you think for she is lying and for some strange reason ashamed to tell me this even though she tells me everything else?

BTW it was never against her religion and comes from a non strict family that would never told her that it is wrong.

I can truthfully say I have never masturbated. I happen to equate intimacy with 'love-making' and I'm just not that 'into myself'. Besides; hubby takes really good care of me.

No..not ALL women masturbate or have at least once! Some women feel very embarrassed and ashamed to touch themselves in this way. Alot of it has to do with the way they were raised and what they were told when they were little. I would venture to say that "most" women do or have masturbated at least once..but I'm sure not ALL have. Some women, when they were little, probably were taught not to touch themselves "there" and that it was bad to do so. So.. whenever they feel like doing that they feel that shame and remember what they were taught. That happens to many women and also men. There is no shame in that. I don't think masturbation is a "must' in the process of sexual development. Not necessary as alot of people think. Believe your wife. She is probably telling the honest truth. Don't make her feel bad about it. Does she have trouble with her sexual relationship with you? If so, then it probably has alot to do with the way she was brought up and taught regarding sex. Then again, some women just don't enjoy it. Hope I've helped...

wow. its hard for me to imagine someone NOT masturbating, just b/c its so natural. Does she also look down on oral sex?
Who knows though, she may be one of those people who can just completly ignore the urges and overcome it and save it for the real thing.
Since you said you both have a very open and honest relationship i dont think that she would compromise that now. But this is an extremly personal thing and who knows, she may be embarrasses by it.

I thought that all women try it.. some may do it more than others some may try it but not enjoy it, maybe feeling ashamed.. uncomfortable with themself... or just plain out don't like it... I would think that she had to have at least tried it to find out that she didn't enjoy it, maybe not I don't know♥

You should believe your wife when she says she has never masturbated.
There are women and men out there who have never done it and are honest.

Marriage is based on love and trust. If you don't believe her, when you say you have an open and honest relationship then you shouldn't be married because you don't mean your half of the open and honest relationship.

I can't believe you.

I'd say the majority of women have gone there, either themselves or with a vibrator. But there is a small percentage of both men and women who just don't do it, I'd say your wife is probably telling you the truth and she is in the small percentage that don't.

I wouldn't accuse her of lying, but I can't imaging anyone not ever trying it atleast. Maybe she's not as open with you as she could be, but then again she could be one of the few women who've never done it...whoever they are?

I think most people do masturbate.

There must be a reason why she thinks it is wrong?

Maybe deep down, she sees it as a sin..giving herself plesure. Or..she does'nt know how to do it and is embarrased to admit that.

Why not set up a romantic eveing...and tell her you would really love to see her enjoy herself that way. Tell her you want to watch. Give her guidlines on the way.

More than likely, she has, but is probably embarrassed to talk about it. I think all women do, but a lot of women have been raised to not talk about it. It's becoming more common to discuss, but I imagine some women probably still aren't open to discussing it out of embarrassment.

She really may not have tried it. I have friends that I know for a fact have not tried it. They aren't comfortable letting themselves go........learning about their bodies........they do think it's nasty, etc.

I'm amazed quite frankly. I would have spontaneously combusted by now.
