Many are allergic to steroids that sweat out of another players pores. This causes them to hock up a lot of flem. This is why most guys playing against Bonds and the Giants are always spitting.

Girls! Can't live with them and can't live with them! It's tough, really tough, to keep a good balance of leanness and comfort in sports. In a game like baseball, where a guy is constantly waiting and then on guard and waiting and then on guard, comfort is difficult. The way your mouth feels is probably primarily what a guy notices. So, it's spit, collect saliva, spit, collect saliva, and then Gaterade in the dugout. It's not a tea party out there. Yet, and the scrotum moves around a lot and need a lot of adjusting, too. Volleyball might be your sport to watch!

Most of them are chewing tobacco. It's a
baseball thing. When I was in High School
I was pitching batting pratice and one of the
guys gave me some Beech Nut chewing tobacco
and every time I threw the ball I would swallow
a little bit. Was'nt long before all the throwing
I was doing was UP.

Years ago they used to chew Chewing Tobacco, it's been banned in MLB for minor leagues and All Star Games for quite a few years now, that's why most east sun flower seed or chew wads of gum.

One reason is that they can't smoke so they chew nasty chewing tobacco and then they have to spit out the nasty juice. UGH!!!!! Other than that I don't know why any man feels that he has to spit all over everything and every sidewalk. Gross!!!!! I find that to be one of the biggest turn offs of all time. When you look at a person and see them spit out a big luggie. Ugh, I'm gonna go and puke now...Barf, gag, splurt......
