I'm Jewish and i really hate how everyone stood by during the holocaust, but at the same time i realize that some people could not do much. i believe that especially since my people went through a genocide, i should do what i can for those people going through it now, like Darfur.
but as i said, i'm only 15, i don't any money i can give
so what can i do to help?

It's touching that someone as young as you actually cares about things that are going on in the world!

There are plenty of things you can do:

You can organize a rally in your area to raise attention to the Darfur genocide.

You can collect donations from neighbors and other people in your community and inform them about what's going on.

You can sign online petitions.

You can write to your state senators and the President about sending U.N. peacekeeping troops into the region. Remember your voice counts!

Individuals can make a difference, no matter who they are. I know a story about a college student that rose awareness of South African apartheid and began the divestment movement, first starting with his school. The idea was that people who disagreed with apartheid did not invest or withdrew their money from companies that opperated in South Africa, so as not to fund that policy. From that one school it spread to others, then across the country.

Pray that that the ones who have died didn't suffer too much. Contact your political representative and formally file a complaint against what is now happening in Darfur, Burma, Iraq and other places around the world. Write or email the United Nations to please intervene, either diplomatically or military-wise. Good luck.

Just talk to people and make them aware of whats going on and ask them what could be done. Sometimes just getting the message out there it will soon reach just the right person who can then make a huge difference- its just a matter of getting that ball rolling!

The best thing to do is nothing. It will sort itself out. The problem is there isn't enough resources like land, water, and food for the population. You can't change that. Nobody can, except the ones that are there. They're in the process of doing it, so let them.

Ask your school counselor of websites or ways to help the people of Darfur.

One idea is to ask for spare change from people. They will not think it is a big deal to give some small change, but every little bit helps. I also think that you can make a diffrence by writing your congressmen that you are concerned about what is going on.

Do something, anything, even if it's to write about it here.
Give a talk at your school, especially to other Jewish kids.
Keep asking the question, "What can we do?"
Think up a fund-raising project, collect money.
