Economics or financing or something else?

Economics is not actually a business major. It's related, but it's a separate discipline.

Probably the most reliably high paying is management information systems (MIS). However, finance or marketing can both pay really well depending on what exactly you're doing. However, most high paying finance or marketing jobs are going to be largely commission based.

Human resource management, general management, and accounting (unless you become a CPA) are probably the lowest paying.

As with most things, it is whatever you make of it. An entry level Marketing job will pay around 25K. That same Marketing degree can lead to a decent sales job that will make you 45K and more your first year. Likewise, a finance degree that leads to a Junior Broker postion will make you a lot more in the first few years then one that lands you a job as a "paper pusher".
All things being equal. get a degree in MIS

Accounting. Accounting is dirty work, but someone has to do it, and those who do it well are paid well.
90% of CEO's come from accounting.
Get a BS in accounting, an MBA and put a CPA on top of that, you name your price.
