has been injured the last few years, and in 16 seasons from 1992-2007, the 36 year old (yeah right, he's from the Dominican Republic, they all lie about their age, he's probably 42) has: 209 Wins - 93 Losses, 3,030 K's and 2.80 ERA, 3 CY Young Awards, 1997, 1999, 2000, and also won the WS in 2004 with the Red Sox. A lot of people say you can't make the Hall of Fame without 300 wins, but Sandy Koufax did so with 165 wins in 12 seasons, so I think it is possible for Pedro, but he better start to rebound the next few years and pad those numbers and get to at least 250 wins to have a shot.
What do you think?

Of coarse Pedro Martinez is a Hall of Fame candidate, look at his resume. Remember that hes not that young, time passes by and players do get wear out and after so many years, injuries come and go.Theirs like a 75% of todays pitchers that don't accomplish what Pedro has done,Plus he arrive to a Boston Redsox team at there prime time, Which year by year always put up amazing numbers, and this is very important for a very talented players earning all those numbers ,with a great team organization.

The numbers you give prove that He is in fact a Hall of Famer 200 wins in this era is amazing in and of itself, and 3000+ Ks should be enough... Bert Blylevin (sp?) should also be in the HOF as well as Jim Rice, but that's another story...
Pedro is one of only three pitchers to win the CY young in both leagues, the others being Randy Johnson and Roger Clemens. Thats pretty good company right there. Yes he has been hurt but he is definitely a HOF

Man I was gonna say the same thing, he needs to stay healthy and maybe get 250 wins. he has all the other numbers as far as k's,era and Cy Young awards. Even has the ring to top it all off. But he probably will get in because he was so dominant for a long period of time. he goes in my own personal HOF for that brawl with the Yanks a few years back

U do not have to have 200 wins to get into the HOF. I think 200 wins is enough not to mention he has reached the 3000 K milestone. He only has a 2.80 E.R.A. career. He has better career ERA's than Clemens and Johnoson.
I don't like the fact that he played for the Red Sox. But he deserves his appreciation.

of course pedro martinez will make the hall of fame. lets say he continues pitching for another 5 years with an average of 10 wins a year, thats 50 wins which puts him at 259, but could be even more. he is 15th on the all-time strikeout list behind guys like phil neikro, nolan ryan, and randy johnson, guys who are already and destined to be in the hall of fame.
the 3 cy youngs and world series ring does help a lot aswell.

No, I do not think that he should be in the Hall of Fame. Maybe if he had 1 more 15 win season, or another 50 wins.

Definetly. You look overall at his numbers and they are just amazing. 209-93 record, 2.80 ERA, 3030 strikeouts in 2673 2/3 innings. Only 708 walks. He could retire today and I think it'd be likely that he'd get voted in. I've read before that he threw the equivalent of a good gyroball in his greatest years of his career without knowingly doing so.

Of course the yankee fan doesn't think Pedro is money picture but all the yankee pitchers with their inflated wins should go to the hall.Because of their great offense.

One of the two best self promoters in baseball history. The other being Curt Schilling. Pedro's number are gaudy to be sure but ask him to throw a complete game and you've got major problems. In his entire 16 year career this "starter" has only completed 46 games. That is NOT hall of fame numbers.
To his good fortune he has played on some potent offensive teams thus has become nothing more than a 5 inning pitcher. He gets in, the team gets a lead and then someone bails him out for the win.
He will probably get inducted only because half the baseball writers association has the collective heads up their @$$es. Too bad because he's not a money pitcher and never has been.
As much as I am not impressed with Curt Schilling, I'd rather see him inducted than Martinez.
