hi soul shine :), hmmm...lets see...there is a reference to something called the ethereal soul.

this soul is consider to govern the wandering of the soul at night...and prevents wandering during the day...unless there is a pathology.
in which case there is no lucid dreaming remembered and the person may dream during the day (like the early morning hours at the break of day) or daydream throughout the day.

much like what people here are describing...i would assume in some cases it might be normal and in other cases it is a pathology of the spirit...
the lucid dreams at night are considered to be normal and desirable, and a wandering of the spirit.

sometimes people tell of traditional stories about how there shouldnt be a mirror in proximity of where a person sleeps...or a picture that might frighten the soul during its wandering. maybe you have heard of them as well.

anyhow... :|, just curious of others opinions... thanks for asking.

My best guess is that it is very possible....I think we are Quantum beings....with our souls functioning as our eternal hard drives....

If an individual is inclined to astral travel time travel or conscious energy work in a waking state then perhaps the soul would be inclined to visit other realms while that person was sleeping .....

would our consciousness need to be a part of it...I think yes. I believe the major lessons or awarenesses gained by soul travel, would be of most value if the individual was consciously aware of the experience.

I think that the soul is more connected to the conscious than the physical so it would stay close when asleep for the majority of people.

I myself recognize many of my thoughts as time travel....I have visited the past in such absolute ways as to affect healing from those past issues in the now. I travel ahead with my dreams and hopes to lay the ground work for my future.....my soul may as well be the pilot...the real inspiration...the divine connection and guidance that drives my conscious decisions.

I have had extremely lucid spiritual dreams......to which distant or parallel planes my soul has ventured I could not say.....I don't think it goes separate from my consciousness though.

Do you have a theory on "Unconscious soul travel my friend"?

do share??

If you ask whether it is a proven fact that the "soul wanders", then I am not sure of that. But I have read in Linda Goodman's Star Signs a reference to such a case.
A house is reported to be "haunted" as inmates have seen an apparition of a woman. One day a lady visits this house (for the first time) and finds the place to be quite familiar to her as she remembers having seen this house in her dreams. Without actually seeing the rooms, she is able to describe them very precisely and when the description is counter-checked, it fits. When the inhabitants see this lady they are sort of flabbergasted. The reason being that the apparition they were referring to was this lady. But she was not appearing in her physical body but in a translucent body. This must be the "Astral Body" so many people are referring to.
Sounds like a UFO reporting, is it not? So your guess is as good as mine.

It does so much more than wander. Some teach to filled classrooms, those that need be are in class. Some have "jobs" or functions, they go to those who are in need of healing, or go to those who truly sleep & work to gently awaken them. There are those that give flying lessons to "newbies". Some are messengers, & yes sometimes we just play. When the body sleeps the "soul" is free of the ego, but all experiences upon awakeing are filtered thru the ego. Some are completely unaware they live another life at night, others bring it back as dreams with varing degress of accuracy. And some are totality aware. There was a man who lived in another place, I never met him in the physical, but new him quite well on the flip side, he was the flight coach for a close friend. I could describe him to you in minute detail, & did to my friend who knew him, it was amazing. He passed many years ago, & when he did, I cared so much for him the lines were just blurred. It was as strong, or stronger than if I had known him here. After passing some hang around & work & play for a while, but all except the most awake move on to another place to prepare, this place I do not know, there is a veil of forgetting & unknowing. Thanks for allowing me to share.

Well... the Soul Self or Being Of Light/Clear Light Mind isn't in the body. But yes when you sleep, the Soul meets with other Souls in the realm/independent reality of souls and they plan for the next day as this life has a clear objective from their reality.

The soul wanders, and it does leave the person as it is escorted into Heaven. That's all I'm saying about it. Mind you, I'm not talking about souls that have deceased physical bodies, but rather bodies that are asleep during the night.

It is a nice thought and I would say that, in a way, the soul wanders when a person sleeps: it wanders in the unconscious realms of our own personality, of our own hopes and dreams, of our fears and disappointments. The soul is a wanderer in this multidimensional space we call consciousness.

My soul wanders when I am awake, so I should not wonder that it wanders while I sleep. The consciousness has a freedom not limited by the body's physical boundaries.

Yes,I would like to think so.The soul should be able to wander where ever the soul pleases.Go inside or dreams or leave or bodies completely and leave are houses or state or country and go where ever or unconcious selves would like to be visiting.

In my case, mine wanders day and night. I'll never find rest for my tired, lost soul.

I've always had a problem with the old duality of body and soul concept. Just can't believe that one can exist without or away from the other.
