That is the thrust of the entire Gang Of Pirates progrom for America. When Carol Lamm and the other US Attorneys tried to enforce a few laws against bribery, or Election Fraud they were either fired, or in at least one case kicked upstairs to an ambassador post.
Likewise throughout the government, what ever the policing authority like EPA, FCC, SEC, or any of the rest of the alphabet soup, the biggest gangster that needs enforcing is made the chairman, and the rules on hiring new people is run by political operatives like Monica Goodling who only vet for criminal loyalty and not any thing else.
If this were the days of prohibition this Gang Of Pirates would be hiring Al Capone to run the ATF
But don't think it is their salaries that is getting all your tax dollars, they are wrecking your job, health, environment, savings, mortgage, food and kids toys, as well as supporting huge government ripoffs. Compared to this their salaries are minor. They will get many times that much on pirate welfare subverting the attempts to fix it by the folk who will replace them.

The government does enforce immigration laws. You want to know why the government doesn't eliminate all illegal entry. That is like saying because there is speeding on the road, police don't enforce the speed limit or because there are robberies, police don't enforce the law. What do you call it when people are denied entry without a visa or passport, and people in the US illegally are arrested and deported? That is enforcement. If they refused to enforce the law, no one would die in the Arizona desert trying to get in to the US, they would just walk across the bridge.

Great question. Why, indeed. Because we don't have enough people who will report them and remove them from office. Probably because people are afraid to report or don't know who to report to, or they are being ignored.
This is the sign of corruption.

Public officials must properly implement the laws because they are being paid through the taxes paid by the people gained through hardwork.
