Well i was watching this show today about doomsday and they say its gonna happen December 21st 2012. thats not far away, hmm? Well they get that information from the mayan calender, which the mayans have predicted things that have ALL came true, and they predict the world is going to end December 21st 2012.

My question: can you give me some information on doomsday? please and thanks!

The world isn't going to end soon.

People have believed that the world is ending in their time since pretty much when the belief began.

The problem with an 'apocalypse' is that it doesn't exactly encourage people to create things for the future of mankind, or to fight for human rights, or even to continue willfully building their life.

The Mayans may be correct, or we might interpret their predictions in lieu of comtemporary events, and so force results to 'fit' the predictions whilst all they really are is coincidence.

Besides, the only person who can tell you if the world is going to end 'soon' is someone who has already been through it in the future and thus can comment with 100% certainty, correct?

Everything else is just heresay.

It could be 28 minutes from now or 280 years from now. When the superpowers square off against each other in two camps, then come back and we'll talk apacolpse.

Until then, just think regional conflicts, wars between rump states, proxy wars and brinksmanship. If you recall the Yom Kippur War in 1973, a coalition of Arab States (Egypt, Syria and Jordan) were soundly defeated by the Israelis. That was a worse situation than the current conflict and it didn't raise a blip on the world war radar (not that it didn't have the potential to spark a global war).

The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.

Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask when is the apacolypse, you are asking when will we commit global suicide. My answer is it won't happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.

Our biggest risk is an accidental launch of nukes by one of the nuclear powers.

It won't end THAT soon, we still have many years. Earth will eventually end around the end of 2050's at the earliest due to pollution. The Ozon layer gets thinner and the Earth warms up, little by little each year.

The Earth doesn't really :end", just that population becomes extinct. In some times far from now. Every so often, rays from the sun hit the Earth (Ozon layer) and bounce off like light hitting a mirror, If the rays were to get past the Ozon layer, Earth will heat up instantaneously. The Ozon layer protects the Earth from the sun's heat (like a shield. Each year, weather gets worse, we expect more hurricanes, notional disasters etc. Summer will be very humid (with little or no rain for some summers). Winter will come late, cold, espect cold fronts. Some winters will hardly get any snow, except a fur flurries, or endless flurries for a few days or a week with little precipitation. Some Winters will bring heavy snowfall unexpectily and may get freak snow storm. Within, 2 years. Northeastern (North America) will geta freak snow storm. Will start off with a sunny day, ending with lots of snow. Somewhere between 5-8 feet of snow within 12 hours.

Thats all I can say for now. This isn't my post, it's from a friend.

Its referring to a world time period
Many claim this will be when Humans stop running the show and the reptiles take over and this place will go through a very dark period for a time
If you look at the real history of this planet you will see it does this from time to time
These world time periods last around two thousand years

The end of the World
Not until Our Sun goes supper nova Long way off yet
So you have time to wash your hair !

I am almost 60 and there have been several ends of the world that I have lived through quite comfortably.

Seems like someone dreams up a new one every few years.

Each time it was about the same The day after the world was supposed to end the sun came up the birds chirped, people went to work and it was hard to find anyone who would admit that they believed a word of it.

Love and blessings Don

They have been saying "the world will end soon" ever since man learnt how to talk.
I would not loose any sleep over it. It is probably just the usual cult leaders inventing stories so that women will have sex with them.
If the Mayans were so good at predicting things, why didn't they buy shares in Microsoft ?

if you believe everything that you hear on tv, then you need psychiatric help!
no, the world is not going to end on december 21, 2012. if and when our "world" comes to an end... we will not predict the exact date and time. it will be something that we do not expect. if for some reason you do find that it is necessary to believe the the world is going to end... then live life to the fullest. experience what you want to experience and enjoy yourself.

i have been told if you put the number in google search, you will find some amazing articles that describe the date, with pretty accurate details of the past such as the '04 tsunami. i have refrained from doing it though, 'cause it doesnt appeal to me.
i am not in any way worried what the date when it seems i have so much to worry about tomorrow.

Some people predicted this for 2000 year too and also lots of computer problems screwing things up (which never happened).

Make your own future and don't let someone else make it for you.
