You are correct. I've heard estimates that as many as 15 to 20 evangelical Christians now believe this. It was only 8 to 12 as little as 5 years ago. By the 2008 election there might be as many as 2 dozen.

I even have watched the religious suited slander human beings, accuse human beings of being traitors for formidable to criticize Bush. I even have listened to them call for the torture of prisoners.
