Is there an age restiction for sleeping in the same bed as your parents??

I heard it was illegal for children over the age of 7 to continue sleeping in the same bed as their parents ... is this true ?

I wouldn't be surprised if there is such a law, but I think such government interference in family life is appalling, and like many of the laws passed by the nanny state, it's unenforceable.

No there is no such law in any of the Untied States. I'm not sure where people come up with such things.

You can be 16 years old and sleep with your parents if they agree to it. In fact some families have a sleeping room with a gigantic bed that the whole family sleeps in together. When asked about sex, the mother and father responded that they simply "do it" in their own private room.

There are many arguments for and against family sleeping. The primary one is that children who sleep with their parents after a certain age become more dependent upon them and it retards their social growth.

I have a hard enough time sleeping with my husband [snoring, kicking, arms flying] there's no way I could sleep with my kids in the bed , but as far as a law the government needs to keep their nose out of my home they have a lot of other issues that are more important than how many people are sleeping in beds.There could be a law on the books somewhere , there are alot of stupid laws that are completely unenforceable.

I found numerous articles recommending against the practice of letting children sleep with their parents, and not one mentioned any legal aspect of the question -- since their purpose was to discourage it, I think they would have quoted any law that would support their argument.

Absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence, but in this case, I think it's unlikely that there is an age limit in law.
