I used to do my hair with the one chunky highlight right down the middle. I loved it that way. I say go for it.

If you are going for effect and are loving the brown base color, try bold chucky sections of red. With a few scattered toffee colored highlights.

Try to judge whether YOU like it or not and not just what everyone else thinks.
