It was rediscovered in the 1920s by Sir John Marshall's archaeologists. It is almost 5500 years old.
First artifect found was 4500-years old.

Moen-jo-daro is the name given by the Sindhi archiologists who first discovered the place. It translates as the "place of the dead".

Moen means dead people
jo means theirs
daro means place.

It is believed to be the place where the first civilized people lived. Archiologists found that its dated around 500 BC (i think) built of clay bricks.

These people are believed to be farmers. They had a good drainage system comparable to some drainage systems still in place in third world countries and had their own currency. they lived a houses built of clay bricks more like an old city.
