If he was praising how good the Iraq war going, would this news last even 2 minutes in Yahoo News?!

The war is hell indeed but if this is 1943, what would those left wing nuts think then?

Rewind back to 2003 right before the initial US invasion of Iraq and remember how Big Media was portraying US-Iraq tensions by beating the war drums. I can assure you there was nothing remotely "liberal" about their coverage at that time. Get over yourself.

Two people here make excellent points: "Lark" brings up a point that is undeniable, though it doesn't address the underlying bias that caused them to run the "good news" story in the first place. When North Korea finally renounced a nuclear weapons program Bush was totally vindicated for refusing to give into bilateral talks with North Korea. The media had been ridiculing him about this for a year, and they were totally, totally wrong. Bush was right. But did they commend him? Did they give this momentous decision front page status? Hell no, just a blurb buried on page 23. To "Raven", your answer is ABSOLUTELY the best! You don't show an email, so I can't congratulate you personally, but you nailed it. What irritates me about Liberals is that they will smugly and defiantly tell you that the media does not brainwash them. They say, "I make up my own mind". This shows how mentally unsophisticated they are. Just exactly what information are they using to make up their own mind? They are only getting one very slanted side of the story. I'm in Prague, and just last night I was talking to an American soldier who had been in Iraq. His experience is nothing like what is being reported. "Raven", if this comes to a vote, you have mine.

Not very often but once in a while you will see these Traitors of America badmouthing America for a quick Buck . If you read the whole story It's more then obvious his creditability is non existent! But the fact he was in the Military badmouthing America makes him a Liberals dream and since Yahoo news is so far Left wing they jump on it and give it front page coverage. How pathetic!

Who's to know? Not many people are saying anything good about the mission in Iraq, so it's hard to say. But when a former commander in the field criticizes the mission's execution, I think most Americans would take notice and be interested in that story.

All I know is that common folk could have told the future of the Iraq war more accurately than any Generals, Presidents, etc. so why do we even need those folks (?)

No one is reporting on "how good the war is going" because it isn't.
General Sanchez has, however, committed what, to the neocons, is an unforgiveable sin: he told the truth as he saw it.
For that--for exercisizing his freedom of speech and daring to dissent--he will be speared, lied about, and villified.
Guess what? It won't make any difference. No one is fooled by the right wing anymore. We all know they are the ones who are unpatriotic and don't support our troops.

Were you in the country when General Petraeus was the only story for an entire week?
When one of the primary officers in charge of executing our strategy in Iraq who was himself implicated in one of the worst episodes in that exercise acknowledges what the administration won't - it's news.
It would be like McNamara acknowledging that the Nam strategy was fubar. Oh, wait. That did happen and that was also news. And had he done so at the time it would have been an even bigger story.

It's relevant to the news because he's a former general, who commanded the troops in this war.
It would still be news if he was speaking positively, in fact, it would probably still be front page news.
Just because you don't agree with him does not make it otherwise.
