All the major rental companies require a credit card. Some may accept a Visa / Mastercard debit card, assuming that they can get an approval for a large balance.

There are some smaller renat companies (usually locally owned and operated) that will allow you to rent with a cash deposit! Start looking in the yellow pages and call any local car rental company to see what they require!

You can always pay cash when you return the car, rather than leaving the charge on your credit card!
