Ends up talking really sexually? Like telling me things he'd like to do. I mean, I'm just looking to talk for company and it's not like I'm coming over and I'd do those things. I don't even know them. No matter what the age, that always happens and I hate it. Why is it that way?

I don't know why. They're all freaks. That happens to me when I play pool on Yahoo Games. I hate it!

Why do you keep talking to guys like that that you don't know? If they knew you they wouldn't do that. If you're single and looking, you'd probably want to find a better site with more respectful people. Plus, why do you let it botheryou when they're not doing anything? You only complain probably because you like attention.
Sorry that was the snotty answer. The sympathetic answer is that guys are ALWAYS thinking about that kind of stuff. GET USED TO IT! If you truly don't like it, find some other way, BESIDES the internet to meet guys. There are guys out there that are respectful and fun to be with. Guys that don't always think and talk about nasty stuff like getting in girls' pants.
Slow down the whole 'chatting-with-guys-you-don't-know' thing for a while and see how it goes.

Well, I'd say they are not being gentlemen (unfortunately, that is an "old-fashioned" notion, though I think men would follow it if it was really valued by men and women nowadays). I try to behave myself, but I don't see it as terribly wrong to tell someone that she is looking lovely at a particular time or in a photo of herself that she has posted. I think how kids are raised nowadays (like a herd in day care and public schools) without social class influence on their associations has rather plebianized our culture, thus we are reduced to the lowest common denominator in what we accept behaviorally.
We've lost the concept of a gentry, and a style of laudible behavior to which all levels of society can aspire.

Because you can get away with talking about that kind of stuff online and not in person. Usually the guys that do this can't get girls in real life, and really have no clue how to behave around them. Stay clear of those guys. This is why it's much better to meet guys in person and not online.

Lighten up, my dear, what did you really expect? If you are so offended or are worried that things are turning sinister, simply discontinue your conversations. After all, you are under no obligation to endure "talking" or "listening" to someone whose type of talk is unwelcome. Next time, state your rules or expectations from the outset and there won't be any misunderstandings.

A lot of men online are idiots, plain and simple.

...oh...I thought it only happened to me....
...well a few times I actually had a normal online talk...but too many guys ....think they want the online talk to be like a free phone sex call.....
...and all of that gets kind of boring....I mean don't they have anything else to say?....
..the internet guys....need to just go to the sex sites that are there for that....and get their minds out of that kind way of thinking when they are around girls who are looking for company not sex talk...

because guys turn to internet based communication in desperation. Guys who can get woman and have friends in RL don't typically look for human interaction on the web...with that said, would you like to have sex with me, my mom says I'm good-looking.
