...would you prefer to know it was coming or would it be easier to deal with unexpectedly?I think it would actually be easier to handle if it happened unexpectedly because if I knew they were dying it would be like all I think about all day long until they finally died.If it happened all of a sudden then it would be a shock at first but I least I know they were'nt suffering for a long time before they died.My whole point is this.People should let the ones they love know it & treat them like you love them while they are here because you never know when it might happen because we take life for granted. Thanks ; p

It's always best to have some advance notice. it's harder of the dying person to see it coming but it is undeniably easier for survivors. This circumstance isn't fair. But it is true.

Death of a loved one is the hardest thing to have to deal with during our time on earth.

The unexpected and tragic death of a loved one is much harder to cope with than that of someone who has lived a long and good life and who is gradually preparing for death.
I know this from experience.

And yes, I think you are right about the way we take our loved ones for granted. Love them now, don't wait until they've gone. I know I am blessed by the many wonderful memories I have of my special loved ones who have passed away.

I know someone who lost both of his parents-- one died very suddenly without warning. The other was sick for a while first & they were expecting it.....

He & I talked about which was worse.... he said either way, it hurt just as much.... can't say which one feels worse.

I agree- I think the grieving process is still going to be there & last as long....

thats hard, because if i could tell my grampa that i loved him before he died, i would have. but i didn't know so he passed and i didn't say bye or say i love you. when they just pass so sudden, your caught off guard. what if you weren't talking because of something so stupid. you would have to live with that. anyways, i always tell my loved ones i love them every day, everytime i talk to them, even if we are fighting. i'll say your a jerk, but i still love you.

Yea I agree, in my culture we are taught from children to understand death, that it is inevitable & it is better to love those near you while they are alive than to live with shoulda, woulda coulda.
