HI, I get the greatest email for 50 and over and it has this heater that sounds great :Flat Panel Wall Heater with Remote by First Street ONline, If anyone would like to find it, I would like to know if it might be cheaper for me living alone than turning on the gas wall furnace I have. I'm really trying to cut cost on my very tight budget. I call it living on pennies. I will also attach the site but I know many don't like to click on sites thanks http://www.firststreetonline.com/product.jsp?id=73897&promotion=82394&WT.mc_id=82394

Gas wall furnaces typically heat your ceiling better than you. If you use it, find a small fan and use it to circulate the air, bringing the heat down from the ceiling to human habitation levels.

Generally, gas furnaces are cheaper for the amount of heat produced than an electric heater, however.

Take care, however, if you live in a climate that gets below freezing, that you don't let pipes freeze. That gets expensive pretty quickly. With a wall furnace, though, I'd guess you'd have few days a year below freezing temperatures.
Sounds silly, but if you're on a tight budget, one of the best things you can do is put on a hat. You lose about 30% of your body heat through your head, so the old camping rule of "if your feet are cold, put on your hat" works just as well indoors as out.

This heater is a high draw electric item..It does not put out any more heat than a oil filled electric heater from Lowe's etc at 1/3 the price. I agree that your furnace will be your best bet unless you live in a 1 room house that is 16ft. x 16 ft. This is a supplemental heater for heating cold spots not homes...

your gas furnace will run cheaper than this heater, it will drive your elect bill way up, you can find a elect heater at wal-mart that will put out the same amount of heat this one does, 1500 watt,s is like turning your iron on high and trying to heat the room with it, stick with the gas furnace,
