Hi Chud E.
I remember now: there was an interview in the paper and he said that he used his Jock accent because he thought it was just right for a "Manly" character.
He's probably right. There is something terrifying about a Jock coming towards you, growling:
"Have ye got the price of a drink,
Jimmy?"

Hey Politics,
There's a scene that they cut:
Xerxes:" Does that Spartan King shout loudly?"
Messenger: "Bawls like a Bull, Sire !"
Xerxes: "Has he? Ooooh,! Don't kill him. Bring him to me alive"

He should be. It cracked me up that he was supposed to be so powerful and threatening. He was definitely gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that : )
