Queen has always been my all time favorite as well. There will be NOBODY like Freddie Mercury in our lifetime. I'm sort of disappointed in the band now, because they actually replaced Freddie! What were they THINKING? My favorite Queen album is "A Night At The Opera". (Well, I love "Sheer Heart Attack" as well. Tough call.) Brian May is amazing. That legendary *red guitar* of his.... you have great taste!

I love Queen, but I don't think I could pick one band. I like to think of them in categories, and genres. It's hard to assign a value to any band, most of the time, you will just point out their influences, who without them, you would not have had your favorite band. In terms of singers, Freddie is way up on my list.

Allman's are my favourite. But Widespread Panic is a near moment.... they rock and John Bell has the pleasant lead making a song voice in rock at present. IMHO. If via 'southern rock' you imply handiest 'blues rock'... you would wish to specify that. My feeling is that that 'southern rock' is natural rock (which you're correct, paramore isn't) that comes from the south, which normally involves a blues headquartered subject matter however now not definitively.. *lol Wire and string~ the Band got here to brain too however I discounted the reality they have been Canadian. I love them too. "existence is a carnival"...

Agree 100% with Fool in the Rain. Queen is way up there with very good musicians but a lot of their songs are just too bubblegummy rock.
Led Zeppelin on the other hand has the incredible musicians (all four of them are very good) and very, very few bad songs.

Oh I definitely agree with Queen! Amazing! Absolutely brilliant! Imagine some artist today doing that...wouldn't work.
