I personally don't believe in abortions and I think if she wanted to get pregnant shes pretty selfish not to except the child that she was blessed with she could put it up for adoption and I'm sure the child would be taken care of....there are plenty of women in the world who would die for the chance to have a child and I don't think its right to abort a child because it might not be convenient.

It's up to the woman. I'm pro-choice...I wouldn't have an abortion just because the baby had a birth defect like downs syndrome. If it were something worse where the doctors knew there was no way for the child to surrvive then I would.

I think that's up to her. Thats why they do screenings early on. I dont think anyone here has the right to judge a person who chooses to abort a child with a genetic abnormality.
If they do I wonder how many disabled children they have adopted and what kind of support they have offered to these women who carry them.

Some of these people need to get off their high horses with their seemingly perfect children and story book lives and realize that not everyone can handle a situation of a disabled child nor could they deal with carrying said child/children 9 months knowing that their child will never be like the others in the check out line at the store... or the little boy who wants to be a fireman... Live it yourselves before you judge.

Don't abort. Down Syndrome is a limitation, but many people with it have lived good full lives. I would adopt one if I were married.

I would normally stay away from this type of question because it's very personal and sensitive. A woman should be allowed to terminate the pregnancy if she wishes. I like the way you put the second part of your question. I say that because it is really amazing how people are against these types of situations, yet they are not willing to support the children that are to be born. Especially with health issues. Life is not cheap in anyway. Whoever thinks it would be wrong won't be around for the tears and pain of watching them suffer. Both mother and child. The only thing is...Do you really know for sure the baby will have DS?

it all depends on the woman. if she feels she cant look after the baby then i think it would be best for her to give it up for adoption. i would happily adopt the child. i think adoption is a much better way than aborting fetus xxx

p.s if it is you pregnant with this child please don't abort him/her me and my partner would be truly willing to adopt this child xxx

Tough question. People with Down's syndrome can lead rich and fulfilling lives, enhancing their family dynamics. Still, abortion is not a choice I have to make (I'm a man) and I wouldn't presume to make that choice for anyone else.

A women should be able to so anything she wants with her body. If she wants to keep the baby, it's her choice. And if she wants to abort, that's her choice. It all depends on the situation.....

Unless you have ever had a child with major birth defects you have no right to judge how someone decides to handle this. I am a nanny for 2 SEVERELY developmentally delayed brothers. They will never be able to live on their own or hold a job. What kind of life is that. The youngest one is 3 years-old, can't walk, talk or feed himself. He probably will never be able to do any of these things.
