My daughter went on her first real date tonite to the Homecoming Dance. This is the very first time I have had to deal with this, as she is my oldest. She is a very good girl, this is just a new step for me in having your child grow up.
Any suggestions on keeping my nerves to a minimum?
:-)

OK dear... sit down with the beverage of your choice in a nice quiet place, put on a little of your favorite music, grab a few sheets of paper and a pen... and write your daughter a letter. Tell her how great it is to be her mom... what it was like for you when she was born and while raising her, your intimate thoughts mind you... tell her how proud you are of her... remember something wonderful that happened of all the wonderful's that the two of you experienced together, maybe something she won't so easily remember... end the letter by telling her about this night and how nervous you are... because you love her so much!

Hi Broken Angel don't know if I can be much help but for what its worth here goes:
I don' t have daughters to worry about , I do have boys 18, 15, 13 and as a parent I tell them call me when they get where they are going and tell me when they leaving by calling me
Don't drink and drive NEVER.. stay away ppl who want them to go someplace with when they don' t know them, never do anything with a girl you will regret later (a dad talk) detail later..
stay tuned , Be a gentlemen always...
I think its a lot different for guys...
to calm a MOMS nerves you will just have to believe everything she has been taught will still be her head and trust in her judgements... I guess..
but if I had a daughter on her first date like to homecoming
I would bring the date in and toss him a empty shot gun shell
and say (if you ever .. the next one won't be empty) and I can pick a flea off at 1000 yards..

You raised her right so you know she isn't gonna do anything she shouldn't. You just have to trust her. Kinda tough but everytging is gonna be fine. You'll see. She'll have a marvelous time and come home and tell you all about it. Do you feel better?
(Now my real feelings? What were you thinking? Letting her go out on a date? Lock that girl up and never let her out! Boys these days??????)
I'm sorry that wasn't exactly helpful huh?

Awww She will be fine.. been there and done that with 2 sons...they live through and so adults also. Watch tv ... do anything ... stay on here with us..MOM. I just had to add this..You raised her to be responsible and I am sure she will be ok.. I know the clock tics for you but she will be home before you know it. I know I use to walk the floors with my 2 sons. THey knew that if they were late they would have to answer to me. Endless nights with sons and worry I did so aint gonna lie. I know when young people are on the road that is what we are going to do..WOrry.

She's gonna be just fine babe! You love her, you trust her, you said yourself that she's a very good girl! Just relax here with us for a while and keep your mind occupied...then when she gets home...be ready to listen to everything she has to tell her wonderful mom about how her night went! My daughter always had to tell me every little detail of her night at the dances and I loved it all...you will too!!! *Hugs Sweetheart* Just breathe!!! =D

Right now, think of your beautiful daughter. How smart and wonderful she is... know she is a good woman and fix yourself something yummy while you wait. Better yet, print her up a card and tell her why she is special to you. What a special night. Good luck to you both.

don't worry. homecoming is just a dance. if she's a very good girl you should really believe that she's not going to do anything that would hurt her or yourself.
