Ha. A friend of mine is currently being stalked by a police officer, for her own safety. She didn't get a choice--it was decided that a threat to her safety should be taken seriously, and now, she's got a cop tailing her.
I don't think she got to choose.
Nor did her date tonight, for that matter.

Say what? I'm sorry but is this question a joke? You are going to "stalk" someone at his or her "convenience"?
I don't think joking about stalking is very funny. I was a victim of stalking once and had to have a police escort home from work every night for WEEKS until they had enough evidence to arrest the creep and let him know what would happen if he called or followed me again. It's not very "convenient" at any time when you have a weirdo shadowing your every move or leaving notes with holes in them.
To me this is like making light of domestic abuse. Stalking is not funny.

That's a really nice idea. Yes, I think it is appropriate etiquette and then at least I can make sure I have my best underwear on... you know.. nobody likes to see the lines and if someone is going to all that trouble to follow me around.. the least I can do is put in a little effort.. for my part.
