I would probably leave out the texas cichlids, but the others will be fine as long as they're added at around the same size. There is a guy with a store in my area who specializes in cichlids and he tells everyone you can put 15-18 african cichlids in a 55 gallon tank. He has never given me bad advice, so you should have plenty of room in that tank. Good luck, african cichlid tanks are among the most beautiful and interesting, in my opinion.

Most cichlids are agressive but go well with other cichlids. They should be fine given a large tank (which you already have). provide plant, driftwood or rock cover for weaker fish to hide in when they are bullied.

Add some flat rocks or ceramic pots (wash them well) and your fish may breed on them! Cichilds take care of their yong (which is the one of theonly things i like about them)

Good Luck!

the general rule is 1 inch of fish per every 1 gallon of water, but its best to have 1 inch fish per every 2 gallons of water. they grow better and live longer when they have more room.
