it wont hurt a bit take off the intake boot, turn the car on it might run a little ruff but its ok spray the cleaner into the throttle body gently and just keep spraying it in their for a minute then just turn the car off and the best way to clean it is to get a used tooth brush and just clean away then just wipe off with a rag and start it up it might stumble a bit just hit the gas a bit to get all that carbon build up out of their

I've been in the business a very long time and if you are doing this along with a tune up or something, there is no need to pull the throttle body off. Just remove the hose where it attaches to the throttle body, the stuff we use is foamy, so with the car off, take the hose off, open the butterfly and spray both sides and everywhere you can reach, dont hesistate to use at least half a can, wipe excess off with cloth, and start vehicle and you're done.

Why not clean the entire fuel system with 3M Total Fuel System Cleaner? All you need to do is dump the entire 16 oz. can into your fuel tank before you plan on taking an extended trip. This is vicious stuff. It not only will clean the throttle body, but in addition, fuel injection nozzles, intake manifold, underside of the valves and more importantly the combustion chambers.

It won't hurt it, It'll burn up with the fuel. Check the label to make sure its safe for your catalytic converter. Most these days are OK.
