some mysteries actually are solved. like, pretend there was a mystery from a long time ago that was recently solved. The original mystery itself could still be considered a mystery.
so "unsolved mysteries" is actually just describing the mystery to a further degree.

If you are talking about the show with Robert Stack it is called Unsolved Mysteries because some of the cases were never solved by the police such as murders or missing persons cases.

well if they were solved, they would be mysteries that have been solved that started as a mystery. If it was never a mystery, its just a story. But unsolved people still dont know what happened.

:)

The practice could have been approximately mysteries in maximum situations. some mysteries have been solved (ex: chilly case police information that are finally resolved). however the practice is approximately mysteries that proceed to be unsolved. somewhat soliciting for help in looking the solutions to them. Love the practice.

Because that show was put on the air for a very very good cause. The host of that show lost his son and was never found/ or the killer was never found. He then started to become active in an organization for the lost and missing children. Somehow out of that a pilot for this series was born and they asked him to host the show, which he initially declined and then later accepted. His show was to reach a wider audience to help people find eachother and to solve crimes. In fact , it was a wonderful idea that helped alot of people. It brought the faces of the wrong-doers into the general publics home and actually got quite a few imprisoned.

They aren't solved though. All of them are unsolved, and if a viewer has any info on that particular case, they're supposed to call the number on the show and let them know.

They showcase only murder mysteries that have not been solved. Cold Case files show solved cases step by step from beginning through investigation to catching the murders.

They were unsolved until a viewer saw it and justified their air time.

Even though I personally have never been a family member of a missing person, I thoroughly applaud the show and say a prayer of thanks that I don't need their services.

(hugs)
