Those hippies hate football....football stands for everything that Cal's culture is against. How funny is that? Next the Republican convention will be held in Berkeley.

Cal's got trouble too. Longshore is injured and they have a starting QB who hasn't taken many snaps. Riley is a freshman who had only 3 passes attempted before tonights game....it's gonna get interesting.

Tedford is the answer here. Great coach and the college has put a ton of money into the facilities and program to attract west coast recruits. Its working.
Bottom line is Cal need to win decisively at home over Oregon State today to keep The Ohio State University in second place. If it's a squeaker, my money says the Buckeyes take over the top spot.
As far as the culture of Berkeley is concerned... Things change, my man. But Berkeley is still as left as left can be.

They still have to beat Oregon State tonight to get it, and they're right now tied at 7 in the second.

Of course, I'm pretty sure that the crowd there will go nuts when they announce the LSU loss.

OSU won't leap Cal mainly due to strength of schedule. OSU really hasn't played anyone, and it doesn't help them that there won't be another Big Ten team in the Top 25 (or shouldn't be, unless losing to Appalachian State doesn't mean anything any more).

The Coaches,Writers and BCS will have Ohio State No.1. They should have been ranked higher than they were starting the season any way. The Buckeyes did play in the National Championship game last year and look like they may have the best Defense ever.

I thought the Republican Convention was going to be in Minnesota.

But in any case if California holds on they will be number 1.

I hope Ohio State leaps over Cal, but we'll have to see.

Yeah, its going to be horrible. Cal doesnt deserve number one, just there so when USC beats them they can praise USC again. The best team in the country in my opinion is USF, but they wont get to be number one. Im a believe in UK football!

Each team that has been #1 has lost so far this year? Maybe staying #2 would be best?

Who saw that coming?

I think Ohio State will leap over them eventually, until they get beat (probably when they visit Happy Valley).
