The only thing that has a light is the cars red alarm light. It came back on after I turned the cars lights off for a while. Do you think if I left a jumper battery hooked up to it for a little while it would start or is it a goner?

It should start. Some of the cars these days have kind of a small alternator. If you can put the battery on a charger you won't run the risk of damaging your alternator.

Jump-start it if you can. Connect the red cable to your positive terminal, and to the positive cable on the other car. Connect the black cable to a ground somewhere away from the battery. BE SURE that the cars aren't touching bumpers, etc.

Let your car soak up some power by leaving the connection there while the other car revs the engine for a minute or two. Then try starting it.

If it starts, disconnect the cables immediately, and be sure you don't short the cables together and make sparks - it's bad for whichever system they're connected to. Then go drive your car around for at least 15 minutes, maybe more if you have the time. 30 minutes would be plenty.

If it doesn't start, let it sit again for 5 minutes or so. It's absorbing power still. If it just clicks, but didn't before, that's a good sign - you're making progress, but it's not there yet. Try after another 5 minutes or so.

If you can't jump it, but have a charger, put the charger on the car overnight. Again, positive to positive, negative to ground somewhere on the car away from the battery.

let it charge about 5 minutes from jumper car, start it, drive it a few hours an you should be ok. If you put on charger the charge time will vary depending on battery charger out put amps. 1/2 hour @ 30 amps is a good charge. if its 1 or 2 amp battery charger over nite will be ok. Be sure battery has enough water an NEVER unhook or hook up a battery charger while charger is cut on. Out gasseing can cause a explosion from sparks.
Be careful an good luck.

You should be able to jump start. You need to get the car rolling to charge the battery after the start.

Unless the battery is really old, it should be able to recover by driving it for a while or hook it up to a charger overnight if you won't be driving it for a few hours continuously.

Yes you can jump it. I would leave it cabled up to the car who is giving you a jump for 5 mins or so just to get it nice and charged before you crank it. Then just drive it for 30 mins or so and this should fully recharge the battery.
