The tradtional Homecoming, which a lot of schools don't follow, in high school is an afternoon of previous graduate picnics or parties, an evening football game with the King and Queen being presented, and an aftergame dance.
Colleges usually have afternoon football games so the alum meetings and parties are set before and after that in late morning and late afternoon. If there is a homecoming dance, it is held in the evening.

Usually it's just a day where the alumni of a school come back and celebrate and 3 current students are crowned king and queen.

well...depends if u go to the after party!! Homecoming is a blast...the dance is usually about 3 hrs..but if you r having a lot of fun it only seems like 1!!!

homecomming is waaayyyyy overhyped and lasts wayyyy to long.
