I'm planning on becoming a junior/high school teacher eventually, and I'd like to know what students think makes a good teacher. I don't mean "No Homework" or "Gives all A's." What makes you guys like your teachers and respect them at the same time?

To me, a good teacher is able to get their message across in a memorable and non-boring way. I won't say that a teacher who gives no homework is automatically good, because that just reflects that either the teacher is lazy, or doesn't care about how well the students imbibe the information. However, a teacher who is fair, professional (meaning doesn't pick on specific students and is approachable) who is able to teach in a way that is captivating and doesn't just consist of lectures and note-taking, is one worthwhile.

My best classes are the ones where I don't ever look at the clock once, and the class is over; but I remember the information that we were going over. Teachers who are able to joke around, acknowledge the wrong answers with a smile and nothing that gives away the feeling "that kid is really stupid" make students want to learn and make them feel appreciated.

And I've also found that even though an A is important, it is not as important as knowing that you've worked your best, and that your teacher was there to answer all of your questions. Sometimes, I can't get the A, but I loved the class and that made it worth my time.

Just don't speak very very fast, and be caring, be serious when people are fooling around, what drives me crazy is some of my classmates take advantage of one teacher because the teacher doesnt want the students to hate them, so they make him tell them the answers, but be in control, and be nice at the same time, be funny, and let the students allow to do abnormal stuff in class like go shoeless, or play a type of game in special occasions, just have an unusual teaching skill

A good teacher is a teacher who can make you love a subject. They are willing to help you when you have a problem and are able to explain things to you in a way that you understand. I've had many teachers that just force work on you, and expect you to know it. Those are not teachers.
I never use to like history, but i got this teacher in eigth grade, and she made me really like the subject. That is what makes a good teacher.

Teach in a form we can relate to. If it's history, tell stories. If it's math, use story problems so the student will know the significance of the problem. If it's literature, have the students wirte their own stories or essays rather than just answer questions.

hi! For me, a sturdy instructor is someone who gadgets sparkling obstacles from the starting up, is personable, and is efficient. studying is already stressful for children. techniques are confusing to entice close particularly at the same time as attempting to entice close the techniques of existence overall at the same time. the base line is that there should be honest rules that are continually enforced, staying power at the same time as instructor cloth, understanding of complications at the same time as retaining extreme expectancies, and positiveness about the teachings and about overcoming hindrances. Wishing you the wonderful as we talk and continuously
