correct me if i'm wrong, but techno is like that "robotic" stuff, and trance is dance/club music. i hate when people don't get the difference and they say like cascada is techno. it makes no sense to me... so annoying.

you are right about the techno part, with techno sounding really robotic...but it usually has a loop which is played over and over again, which usually doesn't have a melody.

trance is usually new-age inspired, and yes it is pretty dancy, but it's not like any of the slow house stuff. it's a lot more melodic and uplifting at times.

the following is my bypass at it considering i like Trance and domicile, yet not the others...I not an authority yet i like the music and once got down to respond to this question on my own. domicile has a large number of truly confusing beats and a large number of bass Trance is more desirable melodoic and gentle and calming Techno is stressful and hits a similar beat like each and every 2 seconds by using the completed component Electro is more desirable same to digital tones that some human beings imagine are music. a large number of human beings classify this stuff right into a similar form yet they honestly are not notwithstanding they're maximum all created digitally all of them sound different.

techno is very hard with allot of acid sounds flashing around, trance is as the name Say's can be soft can be quite hard but generally allot more thought goes in to making the music, with lots of nice sounds and beats through out, very good to listen to after a hard w/e

I would say that Techno is more hard-driving while Trance is a softer more melodic form.

I thought trance was a sub-genre of techno, just like metal is a sub-genre of rock.
