State universities may accept those with a C average but the prestigious universities are looking for those with A's. Colleges will look at your class ranking, at your admission essays, your extracurricular activities, reference letters and your SAT scores. If you are interested in a particular university, call and talk to an admissions counselor

go to their website, they list all that information including aprox SAT scores and if they require things such as letters or rec. or volunteer work or participating in clubs at school
