What do you think World War Three will be about, and where will it take place? I personally think the Germans are cooking something up for the occasion. It appears to be a German Tradition to start major fights or atleast take place in them.

Hi Beth

Why do you think its the Germans again? I think they learned their lesson after two of them. They are a Democracy now not a Dictatorship or Monarch. If anything if their is a WWIII I think that Germany will be on the side of the USA and England this time.

I do not think it will be between the USA and Russia I see us more allied now to Russia.

If we do have one it could start in several spots. Such as mentioned already between India and Pakistan. Or maybe North Korea and South Korea? Then maybe Iran and Israel?

I do think the USA will be involved but what kind of war it will be is hard to say, some say it has already started just slowly building up more and more.

Yes I can see why history would think the Germans traditional of starting fights, but really no more than most countries of their status did. They just lost rather than won. The first troop movements and attacks in WWI were not by the Germans, it was against Serbia for assassinating the Archduke by the Austrian Hungarian Empire at the time, because that attack happened, the Russians declared war on the Austrians and then Germany had an alliance with Austria and hence declared war on Russia and then every one started declaring war on one another.

I hope for the worlds sake we do not have a TRUE WWIII but I think in some ways we are already in the beginnings of one if things do not change soon.

China and America are pretty much the only super-powers left. Although Putin is loathe to consider it, Russian power projection just isn't in the same league as the US and China. China holds billions in US debt and could move to debase US currency in a heartbeat, possibly crippling the US economy. Not usere what our response would be....

India and Pakistan is always a good bet. North Korea attempting to nannex South Korea, if they thought they could bluff the rest of the world into letting them keep it, is another possibility.

Europe will try to ride out the next war, they see anything that occupies the US and the Chinese as a good thing. Possibilities are that Russia could get a bug up its backside and go for the break-away states, especially f they feel they are backed into a corner and are being rendered obsolete, welt-politic wise.

Iran and Israel, is also a classic scenario. I would imagine losing Tel Aviv and Haifa, and then seeing enough crater glass in Iran to be visible from orbit. They could take out Jeruselem, just for spite (remember Iran is Persian, not Arabic).

Lets see, terrorist tactics used by NGOs is a good one, especially if they have pried loose a Russian (or even an old Soviet) weapon.

And let's not even think about Bio-warfare. The entry stakes for that are so low, graduate level bio majors could cook up something as fatal as Ebola, as mutable as the Aids virus, and as transmissible as the common cold. Thats what keeps this boomer in bad dreams some nights. I am, after all, a child of the 50's.

No. WW3 is done. WW3 was the Cold War. It's been over for a long time. This is just clean up. Which, of course, is part of WW Four. Just like WW1 cleanup led into WW2, and WW2's cleanup led to the "Cold War." which was clearly a global conflict, and thence should be considered WW3, disasters will not stop. Things don't change. It's a long-term continuum, with no clear delineations. The Ancient Greeks did all this crap already, understood it, misunderstood it, and explained it all. They understood the great complexities of the human condition, which includes horrendous political power struggles. Wear your seat belt. It's gonna be a wild ride.

At any given time in history, there are numerous wars and conflicts going on. Currently there are 40+/- conflicts in the world. The only time the WORLD WAR status is attibuted to a war is when the superpowers square off on opposite sides in open declarations of war. We are far from that scenario, altho i agree the spark is there to ignite a larger conflagaration. But for now, just think regional conflicts, proxy wars, brinksmanship and disagreements between rump states.

When the US, Russia and/or China square, then come back and we'll talk WW III. The history books haven't declared the Cold War as WWIII or the current war on terror as WWIV. You'll know when WWIII hits, that burst of EMP will be your first warning....

As Einstein is often quoted as saying, WWIV will be fought with sticks and stones....

The way things are going the US will be the ones to start WW3. The US Govt. is getting far too imperialistic for its own good.
