A friend I have has a small flash animation in his signature with a beautiful song in the background, and it goes on for a few minutes, but unfortunately, he does not know the name of the musician, only that the song is "behind the green door". It's slow instrumental. But regardless, I want to take this song from my computer, but I lack a microphone, so I can't do it the redneck fashion. Is there a way to directly record something from my sound card so that it's recording exactly what I am currently hearing off of the computer?

You would have to have a sound program, such as Audacity (free) http://audacity.sourceforge.net or Adobe Audition (hundreds of dollars, unless you know how to find it otherwise).

You would need to set the 'Recording' preferences in your sound device properties to 'Stereo' then use the Record feature on the audio program to capture an audio source from the computer itself.

There may be a program that does it, if there isn't then I don't think it's possible.
