These are tiny little ants, only about 1mm in size, and they keep appearing all over the house. Sometimes there might be a dozen or so, but mostly they are just single. I notice them mostly on white backgrounds like the bath or sink, or cupboard doors, probably because they show up more. They don't appear to be harmful, just annoying, but I'm fed up with seeing them. I've tried spraying vinegar, (I don't like to use pesticides), and I put Vaseline along the gaps where I saw them going, but they still keep popping up. Anyone have any answers? I'd be really grateful!

Lemon diswashing liquid. Scrub the surfaces in your home with it mixed in a bit of water and leave little dabs of the luquid undilluted at their entry points. Works very well.

A good exterminator will put you on a program, spraying around the perimeter of the house and under the sinks, where the ants get in. It's usually once a month and will cost you, usually under $50.00 per month. The ants will stay outside.

You could get those cans that you set off and leave the house and they do the job. You can buy the ant sand aswell. Or you get an exterminator.
I have heard that if you use white powder they will not cross over it. So you could try that aswell.
Good luck!!

You seem to want a more 'natural' type solution. I've had pretty good luck with chili powder. You need to locate the entry point, then sprinkle the chili powder all around the opening.
It seems to hurt their little feet. The best part is that it's OK to use around the kitchen.

I have had very good luck with Terro. You put a drop or two on a piece of cardboard in the path of the ant. He will take it back to share with his nest. In about two days after discovering its sweet taste -you will see no more ants. Good luck!
