Assuming the phone is free, than whatever the cost is for the first month of service and the activation fee (you did not identify what the $35 amount is). By the by, they want your business so you may be able to get the activation fee waived if you negotiate a bit. Good luck.

It depends on the type of phone you are trying to get. If its a phone that is plain, not that much. But if you are getting a phone that is like the new i phone, you better start saving up!
