What's up with that? How come liberals are celebrating this collosal hypocrite and liar?

How come liberals only say "shut up" and call you a "naysayer" whenever you ask questions about their theories and "facts" about global warming.

SO CALLED FACTS THAT HAVE BEEN FOUND TO WRONG 9 TIMES IN AL GORE'S MOVIE ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING.

No supporter of global warming has yet given me a straight answer to that question.

Falsities from Inconvenient Truth
- The UK court found: Snows of Kilimanjaro are NOT melting because of global warming, as Al Gore claimed. Gore’s expert witness admitted they can’t prove it.
- Hurricane Katrina was NOT caused by global warming. It was clearly a one time event, and the government expert admitted Gore was wrong.
- The expert witness for Gore admitted that the drying up of Lake Chad was NOT caused by global warming
- Gore’s claim that 4 polar bears spotlighted in the movie drowned because of global warming was shown to be from a single storm
- The UK court determined that the claimant against Gore’s movie had proven that global warming is NOT interfering with the Gulf Stream, and is NOT throwing Europe into an Ice Age.
- Gore’s experts could NOT show that global warming was causing “coral reef bleaching,” as Al Gore claimed in the film.
- Scientific evidence shows that the sea level is expected to raise, at most, 40cm over the next 100 years, not the 7meters.

In your mind would it all be OK if Al Gore was a conservative?
When you are but deep in water, which liberal will you blame?

First off, Vice-President Gore purchases carbon offsets for his air travel (which is not always in a private jet, in fact he flies commercial when ever possible), there by not only remaining carbon neutral, but also encouraging the growth of the green economy. Second, he won the award the same way anyone does, the Norwegian Noble Committee from amongst those names put into nomination selected him. The Noble Committee is autonomous, though appointed by the Norwegian parliament, and are able to award it to pretty much anyone they please. This year, they chose to award it to Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. As for why, the Noble Committee clearly views the environment as a humanitarian issue and has chosen to recognize the IPCC as a body and Al Gore specifically for their efforts in this area. That's their prerogative.

First off if your going to make an accusation like you must give proof or at the very least sources that provide proof.

Secondly, not counting the fact that just about every major scientists generally agree that global warming is happening and will cause issue, does it really matter? The whole purpose of the film was to raise awareness about the global warming and it more than wholeheartedly seceded in that respect.

First of all, you should question the one(s) claiming that Gore's information contained nine falsehoods. Because a lot of those seeking to discredit Gore's findings may be supported by special interest groups(oil companies, big business, etc.) Second, no one that I know supports the process of global warming. Global warming is bad. So, why would I support it. And, for someone to argue that 6 billion plus people are not impacting the environment in a negative way is kind of foolish. Finally, your argument would be stronger if you cited your sources rather than shooting off random statements.

Thank you! My boyfriend and I talk about this all the time. We both are not big followers of global warming. If you look in any world history book you'll see that our so-called pollution caused global warming has been occurring on and off for thousands of years and there is not much we are going to be able to do to stop it.

I'm not saying I throw my trash anywhere I please, or that I drive a ridiculously huge SUV around in my un-mountainous city. I do my part to conserve energy and not waste water, but I really do not believe that it will drastically change our atmosphere.

Global warming has become a religion, and I've never been a religious person.

Al Gore did not win a Nobel Prize for his work on "The Inconvenient Truth". He was given a Nobel for his 20 year effort in raising awareness about the need to take care of the environment.

However, which of these contentions from the "The Inconvenient Truth" are false? Perhaps, you have proof to prove these false.

Carbon dioxide and other gases warm the surface of the planet naturally by trapping solar heat in the atmosphere. This is a good thing because it keeps our planet habitable. However, by burning fossil fuels such as coal, gas and oil and clearing forests we have dramatically increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere and temperatures are rising.

The vast majority of scientists agree that global warming is real, it’s already happening and that it is the result of our activities and not a natural occurrence. The evidence is overwhelming and undeniable. (Source: According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), this era of global warming "is unlikely to be entirely natural in origin" and "the balance of evidence suggests a discernible human influence of the global climate.")

We’re already seeing changes. Glaciers are melting, plants and animals are being forced from their habitat, and the number of severe storms and droughts is increasing.

The number of Category 4 and 5 hurricanes has almost doubled in the last 30 years. (Emanuel, K. 2005. Increasing destructiveness of tropical cyclones over the past 30 years. Nature 436: 686-688.)

Malaria has spread to higher altitudes in places like the Colombian Andes, 7,000 feet above sea level. (World Health Organization)

The flow of ice from glaciers in Greenland has more than doubled over the past decade. (Krabill, W., E. Hanna, P. Huybrechts, W. Abdalati, J. Cappelen, B. Csatho, E. Frefick, S. Manizade, C. Martin, J, Sonntag, R. Swift, R. Thomas and J. Yungel. 2004. Greenland Ice Sheet: Increased coastal thinning. Geophysical Research Letters 31)

At least 279 species of plants and animals are already responding to global warming, moving closer to the poles.(Nature)

If the warming continues, we can expect catastrophic consequences.

Deaths from global warming will double in just 25 years -- to 300,000 people a year. (World Health Organization)

Global sea levels could rise by more than 20 feet with the loss of shelf ice in Greenland and Antarctica, devastating coastal areas worldwide. (Washington Post, "Debate on Climate Shifts to Issue of Irreparable Change," Juliet Eilperin, January 29, 2006, Page A1)

Heat waves will be more frequent and more intense.Droughts and wildfires will occur more often. The Arctic Ocean could be ice free in summer by 2050. (Arctic Climate Impact Assessment. 2004. Impacts of a Warming Arctic. Cambridge, UK: Cambridge University Press. Also quoted in Time Magazine, Vicious Cycles, Missy Adams, March 26, 2006)

More than a million species worldwide could be driven to extinction by 2050. (Time Magazine, Feeling the Heat, David Bjerklie, March 26, 2006)

Thoughts?

actually i think global warming is a hoax. you may not want to read on , but please do because i want you to know the truth. Global warming was just made, because we humans love drama. example :gossiping. 20 years ago scientists said there was global cooling and that another ice age was coming, which was not the case. now, when that died out, they talked about global warming, which will eventually die out. Al gore is the rightful president of the USA, Bush's cousin rigged the election. Watch Fahrenheit 911

I could not believe that either. I mean, really. Who the **** cares if he narrated the Inconvenient Truth and "works to help the world again global warming" and has made more people recycled and that stuff than any other person. I think it depends on whether their a hypocrit or not.
Anyway, I'm not really answering this. I'm just complaining...

George Bush was found to have uttered many falsehoods in his first 4 years, yet he was elected to a second term. What's up with that?

Global warming is not a political question. It is a environmental condition that may have political solutions. Put it in the arena it which it belongs.
