It's horrible. You dont have the right to kill someone else, even if theyre inside you're body. If someone is stupid enough to go get pregnant if they dont want a child, they made a stupid choice, but that shouldnt be an excuse to kill someone. I hate it. It should be illegal.

It's funny if a man kills a woman that is pregenant he gets charged with a double homicide. But if a woman gets an abortion she doesn't or the Doctor doesn't. What's wrong with this picture.

I dislike abortion. I think most people dislike abortion as it is never a positive decision or a good thing at all. I understand that people have different Constitutional and legal arguments for and against abortion, that's the debate over Roe V. Wade.

However, I think that it would be impractical to ban abortion now. Because, like it or not, it is a medical procedure, and once a new major medical procedure is invented, once the idea that a pregnancy can be relatively safely surgically terminated is instilled in people's minds it will not go away. It has existed for too long to ever go away, whether it is banned or not. If it is ever banned, it will certainly scare some people, and probably a fairly sizable amount of people to be more careful and use more abstinence and contraception, however, there are many who will continue to engage in unprotected sex and result in unwanted pregnancies, and unsafe back alley abortions will rise dramatically. And that will result in more illness, more death, and possibly an entire secret illegal industry. Or they would just go to other countries. It just wouldn't work anymore. You cannot stop the advancement of medical science, whether it is good or bad.

Besides, it is unlikely that it would ever be banned across the US. First you would have to overturn Roe V. Wade, which I suppose is possible with the Roberts Court, but then it would be debated in the states, you would never pass a Constitutional Amendment, I don't think, so some states would have it and others wouldn't, so people would just travel state lines. Not going away.

As a child advocate, I see abortion as the taking of an innocent life; a life of one who cannot defend themselves. The "choice" we are so want to consider in this day and age, should come at the time of conception.

The only time I personally would even consider abortion "legal" is in cases of rape or incest.

Heres the thing I find interesting ... liberals think its okay to kill unborn children, but heavens to Betsy we should kill violent criminals. And conservatives think unborn children shouldn't be killed, but are the first ones to call for criminals to be executed. So, which is okay ... to kill people who aren't born yet, or those who have been born? Just an observation ...

Personally, I think its morally and ethically reprehensible for persons to have an abortion simply to escape the consequences of their actions, or because it would just be 'too inconvenient' to have a child a certain time -- to them destroying unborn human life is simply a matter of business. However, I don't think abortion should be banned across the board either. There are certain situations where I think abortion should be allowed. For instance, if the mother's life were to be in jeopardy as the result of a pregnancy, or if the person became pregnant as the result of rape (because they were not given a choice in the event that created the child). For all the other situations ... its just a matter of people not wanting to deal with the consequences of their own actions, and just because it is your own body doesn't give you the right to destroy and unborn one inside yourself.

That is just my personal opinion though ... nothing more.

The government tries so very hard to control everything else in our lives I wish that they would start here! I think that the only way a person should be allowed to get an abortion is to have medical proof that the child was either conceived as a result of rape or that the child or mother will die if they deliver. All other reasons should be ignored. "I am not ready"......well now you are!!!! If a 13 year old girl gets pregnant, it's time for her to grow up... Take responsibility!!!! Abortions should be outlawed!! Would you walk next door and shoot your neighbors?? Same concept!!

Abortion is such a touchy subject. My opinion stays neutral. My only argument is what's the difference between abortion and capital punishment. We kill people for doing crimes instead of giving them a chance to become different people. Is that not hypocrisy?

You're absolutely wrong. I suggest you stop thinking about yourself and think about the baby. Should that baby have to suffer? Should he or she be abused, neglected, because the mother doesn't want him or her? Should he or she be abused, neglected, because the FATHER doesn't want him or her? Should the child have to endure drugs or alcohol, end up with horrible medical problems, because the mother didn't want to have the child and continued with her lifestyle? No. No one deserves that. The baby is much better off dead.

Abortion must not legalized because it is the killing of a person at an early stage.

I total agree. it's like saying it's okay to make mistakes, but really you're just killing someone who could be a really great person, but you never gave him a chance.
