Although Mr. James was an adequate hand with the gun, he was, in my recollection, more of a bushwhacker, very deliberate. Young Mr Bonney, on the other hand, had a reputation for unpredictability and some speed. A relatively even match, all things considered, with the edge going to the Kid, providing his aim was lucky that day.
